Actively at the helm of the
law firm he started from scratch, Adam Leitman Bailey, Esq., practices
residential and commercial real estate law in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Bailey has been identified among the top five percent of

This past year, the internationally esteemed Chambers & Partners selected Mr.
Bailey as one of "New York's Leading Real Estate Lawyers."
Chambers & Partners remarked that Adam Leitman Bailey made his

landlord and tenant litigation,” hailing Mr. Bailey as a “tenacious and
confident litigator who is quick-witted in court and respected by the

Mr. Bailey's advocacy has prevailed in numerous important trials and cases
before various courts and trial venues, including Housing, Civil, and New York
State Supreme Court, as well as various New York Appellate tribunals. Such
cases have included:
· Rivas v. McDonnell,
victorious in a noteworthy Appellate Division decision involving an
interpretation of the recording statute;
· Priel v. Heby, victorious in
an important case setting new rules for commercial real estate joint venture
agreements;
· 542 East 14th Street v. Lee,
victorious in case of first impression before Appellate Division defining
expansion of rent regulation law for non-primary residence cases.
Mr. Bailey has successfully defended a number of the largest title companies in
the nation, as well as prevailing in numerous trials and settlements involving
commercial and residential building owners and tenants, real estate developers,
real estate brokerages and cooperative and condominium boards.
In addition, Mr. Bailey has favorably represented a number of tenant and
homeowner associations and commercial and residential tenants, earning these
persons and associations many millions of dollars in compensation and rent
abatements. For buildings in disrepair, he has also successfully sued to ensure
that those residential towers, apartments, and stores were repaired and all
services restored.
Mr. Bailey has also applied his expertise in closing various real estate deals
and commercial leases. He has been named to the Board of Editors for Commercial
Leasing Law & Strategy and has a regular real estate column in the New
York Law Journal. Additionally, Mr. Bailey is the co-author of several form
leases for Blumberg Legal Forms, whose principal, Bob Blumberg, praised
Mr. Bailey's "remarkable" lease drafting. Both residential and
office agreements he drafted for Blumberg Forms can be purchased nationwide. A
book published by Vendome titled Insider's Best Commercial Leases Clauses
also consulted and quoted Adam Leitman Bailey for his legal expertise and
drafting of some of the nation's top lease clauses.
Mr. Bailey has been selected among the “Who's Who in Real Estate” by Habitat
Magazine, and is a member of the Real Property Committee for the
Association of the Bar of the City of New York. As an assistant adjunct
professor at New York University, Mr. Bailey teaches commercial and residential
landlord-tenant law. More recently, Mr. Bailey has taken on the role of
author to guide first-time home buyers through the purchase process. His first
book, The Insider’s Guide to Buying A Home and Making Money In Real Estate, is
scheduled for release in late 2010.
