About Eric S. Askanase

Eric S. Askanase practices real estate law and general commercial litigation. He has represented clients in a broad range of commercial disputes including financial, real estate, bankruptcy, mortgage and title disputes, as well as other complex litigation in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Askanase is an adjunct professor at his alma mater, Columbia Law School, where he teaches the foundational seminar in legal practice, writing and advocacy.

Prior to joining Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C., Mr. Askanase practiced at Kasowitz Benson & Torres LLP, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, and Phillips Lytle LLP in addition to his own solo practice.  He clerked for the Hon. William J.Martini in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark.

Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Askanase was a policy analyst in Washington, D.C., and Paris, France and spent many years working in the theatrical and literary department of a major New York talent agency.

Mr. Askanase is a graduate of Columbia Law School where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics, and Articles Editor on the Columbia Business Law Review.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and New Eastern Judaic Studies from Brandeis University.

Mr. Askanase is admitted to the New York bar and is a non-practicing solicitor of England & Wales.

Mr. Askanase is fluent in French.
