Commercial sub-tenant owed Fortune 500 company 6 months past due rent. Commercial sub-tenant stated that it would surrender the space and would go into bankruptcy before paying a dime and that all tenant’s monies had been transferred to a different company. Sub-tenant had been defrauding banks to obtain larger loans for different buildings. When subtenant reviewed court papers detailing entire scam and fraudulent activity the past due rent and legal fees were paid in full in addition to rent for the rest of the term.
