Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. Client Prevails in Renovation Lawsuit

The client is the owner of a multimillion-dollar historic office building in midtown Manhattan. During the course of renovation, the client contracted with a window supplier to provide and install curtain wall windows for $3.8 million. Some windows were defective and/or defectively installed. $785,000 was withheld by the client.  After attempting to negotiate a settlement, contractor sued for the $785,000. Prior counsel, with the client’s consent, was prepared to settle the case, but defendant would not abandon its $785,000 claim. Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. was substituted in and were able to negotiate a settlement where no money was paid to the contractor and the window supplier assigning its rights under its suppliers’ warranties to the firm’s client.

Colin E. Kaufman represented the owner in this proceeding for Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C.
