Could you tell me a little bit about yourself and the Opera?
Something about the Amato Opera is a very long story. But I will try to make it brief. It is an organization which, for sixty-one (61) years has produced Opera in a miniature theater in a full productions course, series, costumes, introducing young American operas and young American opera singers and supplying for these singers a place where to show to learn their trade. And another wonderful aspect of the amount of opera has been that its an opportunity for the public, the general public, to go to an opera production, that they could afford instead of going to Lincoln Center where the prices are quite high. They can afford to come and see the Amato Opera so we made that…we have given that opportunity for sixty one years so we have a wonderful family of opera lovers who have supported our company and those have been the backers of our company. The little general opera with all of many, many volunteers to make it possible.

How come the opera house is ending? How come is that the last show?
They were closing out our season on the 31st of this month and we gotten full houses now for the past six months because the news has been out that we are closing and we are sad about it but at the same time, I feel a little bit relief so that I could now be freer to do my memories, to travel a bit, and to maybe even study music which I never had opportunity to prepare before.

Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. managed the closing of this theatre, in the business closing, part of it, I couldn’t be happier with anyone anymore. They are just a wonderful people. Very kind, warm, takes the time to explain to you details which I am a little bit ignorant of. Talk to me about music, I am pretty good at it. But when it comes to business affairs, Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. helped me so much…great. I had a wonderful association with them and I hope to continue my association with him very much. Thank you.
Anything else you want to add before we finish?
I received many, hundreds of wonderful letters wishing me a good health and a happy future and that made me very happy. Of course, the public might think its sad… a little disappointed… but they are happy for me now so that I could have a few years that I have left I can enjoy life a bit without pressing myself to do fifteen…twelve, fourteen, fifteen hours a day of work which this requires so I am looking forward to some free time.
