My name is Grace and I go to the High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology. I have never had a job before so this internship was my first job and it was a really good experience.
What was your role at Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C.?
Aside from the basic scanning, copying and filing I also did some accounting stuff like pull up some old clients invoices and saw some things and I helped retrieve some over billed invoices from venders and things like that.
What was it like working here?
It was really fun because all of the attorneys and staff here are really nice and if you ever make mistakes they don’t yell at you or anything they just kindly correct you and tell you ways that you can improve so you’re always improving and always having fun at the same time.
What did you learn from working here?
I picked up on some Microsoft Excel skills because I never knew about Microsoft Excel and how to use it or anything like that. I’ve also had some experience communicating with vendors on the telephone and that didn’t come really easy.
What is the one thing you will remember most about your experience?
One of my responsibilities was to buy fruit for the office and I didn’t know which type of fruits and vegetables to buy so I decided to make a spreadsheet on Excel with everyone’s name and all the fruits and which ones they liked. I didn’t expect that much response from all the attorneys and staff but then almost everyone participated in it and I was really happy about that.
What was the best thing about working here?
I personally am really interested in math so my favorite thing was pulling up the old clients’ invoices because that has a lot to do with the math and getting the money from the over billed vendors, that was my favorite project.
Any other comments or suggestions?
I really want to thank Adam and Laurie for giving me this opportunity to intern here because I’ve never had a job and now I know what its like to work in an office and that has really opened my mind to many experiences and it was a wonderful experience so thank you.
