How did you meet Adam Leitman Bailey?
He went to my high school and during my time there he wanted to give back to the school so he started a scholarship in the name of the professor that influenced me the most, Mr. Harrison, who also was my professor at one point. When I was in tenth grade, he gave my history class a tour of the Wall Street area of the stock exchange and Trinity church and that is how I first met him. Then in my senior year, the awards at the scholarship dinner, I won the scholarship which he endowed and I gotten to know him since then.
How has Adam Leitman Bailey assisted you?
The scholarship is for $10,000.00 every year of my undergraduate education. If I keep a certain GPA up it gets renewed every year and it has been very helpful. Honestly, I don’t have to pay for school. I haven’t had to take any loans out so it has been very very helpful.
What does the Raymond “Hap ” Harrison Scholarship mean to you?
It means opportunity. It means I am able to not to worry about how I am going to pay for school and Adam can provide a lot of connections and opportunities for me to develop professionally and it is very very helpful.
What has this scholarship done for you?
It has taken a load off my back and my families definitely. If I wasn’t under the scholarship I would probably have to live at home because I couldn’t afford to live on campus. Living on campus is very convenient obviously so it just makes life easier basically.
How would your life be different without this scholarship?
I don’t have to worry about more things that I don’t have to worry about…money…more money basically. It’s nice to have somebody looking out for you and that’s where Adam comes in.
