K.T. Summer Associate Testimonial

To begin, can you please state your name?

My name is Kate.

Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?

I am 25 years old. I grew up on Long Island. I went to school upstate at Albany.

I got a business degree in finance and management. I am currently in my third year, last year in law school at Toro on Long Island.

What was your role here at Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C.?

I was an intern. Pretty much mostly worked in the banking department and I did closings.

What was it like working at Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C.?

It’s very diverse. There is a lot going on here. I mean, we do closings for purchasers and we also do bank closings. We do litigations. It’s just many different aspects of the law so you kind of just get a little feel for everything.

What was the time frame that you worked here?

It’s a spring internship so I started in the end of January of this year and I go until May.

How did you hear about Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C.?

At my school. It’s a clinical program and they give you a bunch of firms that are willing to mentor students so this is one of the firms that I have found to be in Real Estate which was what I was interested in and I googled the company, the firm, and I found that it had everything that I was looking for in a firm so I decided to go with them.

Did you get to work with Adam Leitman Bailey directly?

In the beginning of this semester I did because I was working more on like research articles and things like that but now I am strictly with banking so not as much now.

Who are you working with now?

Rosemary Ruizzo. She takes care of Wells Fargo Banking with the firm.

What type of tasks did you perform?

In the beginning of this semester, I did more research assignments and then also with other attorneys in the litigation department. I did research, brief cases and help with their litigation and then…now I am doing banking so I kind of prepare the documents, do the closings and schedule the closings and things like that.

What is the one thing or experience that would stand out in your mind that you gained from working here?

I mean… I really have taken interest in the banking so I was able to do my own closing for the most part…I mean… Rosemary stepped in when she had to notarize and things like that but it was a good experience to do it from the beginning to the end. It kind of gave me the big picture.

What was the best aspect of working with Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C.?

Like I said before, it is very diverse. It’s a lot of different things going on and it was good to see just how everything came together and everyone works off each other so it’s like…it’s kind of like a family unit type thing…like everyone helps each other out and it was nice to see that and just how everyone works at their organizational skills and the efficiency that goes on. It was definitely a good experience to see it.

Do you have any other comments or suggestions?

Just that I was very impressed with everything that went on here. I mean I feel like I learned a lot and it’s a good firm, its good firm to work at and a good firm to have as your attorneys.
